Haven't needed the heat over the last couple weeks but it went on the other morning. By late morning, it was freezing again so I went to check on the furnace. The water level was below the bottom of the water gauge glass so I slowly opened the water valve to re-plenish. The water was so full of sediment that no matter how much discharging I did, it would not clear. I have been diligent about running the water off every week. So, 1) why would the level drop when the heat has been off and 2) why so much sediment. Further, this morning I checked on the water level and it looked clear but as soon as I turned on the heat, the water seemed to discolor.
