I have a basement floor area I want to carpet. Its approx 10 by 12. The floor is concrete. Occasionaly I have water seep down the sides of the walls of this area. and the water will trickle to the floor drain/ My question is what carpet would I Use ( like olefin?). I want a short pile. something that could stand getting mildly wet if the case happened to be although I am working on the water problem. Can I just glue the carpet to the concrete floor? I really don't need a pad and am worried how a pad would hold up if it got wet. Do I need to put down sheet plastic underneath the carpet as a vapor barrier first? Thanks

I used TEC Contract Carpet and Flooring adhesive. It seems to have worked really well. I don't know if it was flammable or not but I used it fairly close to the pilot light on my hot water boiler furnace.

If its not rated for outdoor use it'll come loose when it gets wet
