Bought a new prehung double door from HD. Set frame, leveled top, plumbed sides and the gap between the doors goes from 1/16" to 1/4"-5/16" from top to bottom. Any advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks, zinger

It's all in the shims!
1/16" is too narrow, and 1/4" (or more) is too wide. Adjust the shims so that you have a consistant 1/8" or 3/16" gap, all the way around. Then install the casings on both sides of the jambs.
