No circular saw has a blade guard wide enough to accept one.

You would make dado's with a circular saw by using a jig.

And even IF you could find one with a guard that would take one, the arbors are only set up for a single thickness of one blade.

I make a series of cuts close together, knock the remaining pcs out with a hammer and chisel the bottom smooth IF it needs that much precision.

An alternative would be a straight bit in a router.

Thanks for the replies.

I knew of these limitations. I was just wondering if anyone was able to come up with something that was able to overcome them.

Any tool inventors out there?

It would seem to be a good idea but another thing to consider is the fact that if the wide blade were to jam it could make the saw uncontrollable .

Nothing in particular. I was just wondering if such a thing had been made.
