I have an HP DeksJet 820Cse attached to a Dell using Win98. All was fine and suddenly the printer wasn't working. I've winnowed the problem down to a document in the queue that I can't purge, clear, etc. The fan had fallen off of the interior wall of the tower and caused a few problems before I realized what had happened. I don't think the inability to clear a document that I typed for my son years ago and printed out once and not within the last two years. I've tried going to the HP site. No solution. Cyberwalker ditto, Win98 help ditto, etc. Does anyone out there have any idea how I could fix this irritating problem? The printer keeps telling me it is printing this file and will not allow me to print anything else, though other documents can be added to the queue. Thanks.

Uninstall the program for the printer, restart, then reinstall it. This should delete the files used for the printer queue and free the printer. Alternatively, you could track down the printer queue file and delete it.

Hope this helps.
