Have Comfortmaker Snyder-General Model G-U 400100-12M gas fired uplow furnace manufactured 10/85. Furnace will fire up all burners but fan will not turn on and furnace shuts off after about a minute. Fan will not turn on at all either on "on" or "auto." I suspect blower motor is bad. I have removed it (Westinghouse S# 323P683, 1/4 HP, Part #1066-661). Any suggestions on where I can get replacement. Or would it be more cost effective to get new furnace? No heat in house here on New Year's Day and to have service call will cost $500. Any suggestions. Please help. Thank you.

You can try this . With the fan on or calling try and give the fan blades a spin if it keeps running then its just the capacitor you need. Now look out when you do this use a stick . If it dont start Id look in the phone book for motors. Make sure you get the same Volts RPM and ccw or cw. On the new motor. Get the motor;) ED
