I have a problem with my air handler making a clicking sound and it cycles from normal to aux heat. the only way it will stop is to move the thermostat up farther to aux or down to normal. i have replaced the contactor on the outside unit and cleaned the coil on the inside. could it just be the thermostat???

Sounds like it could be in the tstat. There should be about a 2o different when the heat pump comes on and then drops the 2o before the aux comes on. Could it be the tstat is off or is there a draft in the wall there to make the tstat drop and turn the aux on and off. Pull the cover off the tstat and just look at it and see if it rocks on and off.;) ED
