I'm hanging curtain rods next to my window but one side of the wall is real thin and caves in when I screw into the little plastic holders I tapped in. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have beautiful wood molding and don't want to put holes in it. So, far I've spackled and tape over the holes that went through. Any hints?

instead of the plastic anchors there are metal anchors available. These have screws in them and you push them into a predrilled hole, tighten the screw and what hapens is that tightening the screw spreads the metal behind the wall like an umbrella and tightens the achor. Remove the screw and fasten your rods.

Make sure the plaster is secure. A good test is to push on it. If its solid go ahead with a different anchor. If its mushy you will have to patch with some quick set mud before trying to do it again. Also drill a hole to put the anchor into. Don't just try to bash it in with a hammer.
