how can you tell if an exhaust blower on a heating unit is any good? a few days ago i started to hear a whine coming from the heater. i pulled the panel off and the exhaust blower was hot and was hard to spin. i let the motor cool down and cleaned it out with electric contact cleaner and now the motor does not come on and heater will not ignite. where do i check for voltage on the motor to see if its any good.

black wire going to motor should have voltage...sounds like a bad motor

the motor is a 230 v unit and has two black wires going to it. i took the motor off again and hooked it to 110v and it will spin, just not as fast (3200rpm) like its supposed to. i have a circuit checker and it showed i had voltage at the motor when hooked up to the heater. i can set the tstat to fan and the main blower will come on but on auto it will do nothing, but with ac on auto the ac works fine.
