I am planning to install carpetting in my basement. I am planning to use tack boards, but instead of nailing them into the cement, I would like to use adhesive to adhere the board to the cement and then tack down the carpet as usual.
What adhesives are best for this scenario? I have looked at "liquid nails" for bonding the wood stips to the cement flor, but it is very "vapor" toxic ... and other suggestions are appreciated.
regards, peter d.

Liquid Nails is what I have always used(can't beat the holding power, unless I needed it installed and dry the same day, then Chemrex.
TIP:
Cut your tackstrip into small 1 foot sections. The longer strips of cheap tackstrip(even the good stuff), tend to bow. Cutting the strips into smaller lengths, sets more surface into the adhesive, giving you a better bond.

Thank you Perry, looks like i was headed in the right direction. I did notice that the tacks were quite warped already, so that is a great suggestion about cutting them to get more surface area to stay down !
