I'm considering getting a mini lathe and turning pens. I'd appreciate any pro's/cons on features that are "essential" vs "nice to have". Any brands to avoid? I'm considering the "Jet Pen Lathe". Are there any good reference works that you are aware of on the basics of wood turning?
