What type of primer should I use to get the dark colored wooden paneling ready for paint? I have been told Kiltz(or something like that), but want/open to other opinions. I am looking to paint the walls red & another room white if that helps. Thanks.

After cleaning the paneling, I prefer Zinsser 123 as a primer. It hides the original color well and provides an excellent bonding surface for the paint.
