hello,
I do have a gas furnace which heats up wahter andcirculates hot water through my house. two of the 3 zones are working fine. One, however, does not turn on since about 1 day.
The thermostat is a honeywell with a slider.
Down at the furnace is a little box which is controlled by the thermostat and i think acts as a valve and lets water through or not ( excuse my explanations, i have no idea how the system really works, and secondly english is not my mother tongue, so i might say things in a silly way) . Anyways, the pipe below the box ( towards the furnace) is hot, the pipe going upwards from the box stays cool. There is a little lever on the bottom of the box. One the other two zones i can push this lever to the right and the water will ciruclate through the pipes. On the zone which is not working i can't move this lever to the right ( i did not use too much force though).
i already called the gas company, but they are even not sure if they can come out today.
Any advice what i can could try out is very welcome. I don't have any electrical skills/knowledge, but can follow directions and am a quite good learner :-)
thanks for reading.

You should probably call a HVAC contractor that deals with hot water heating, not the gas company.
Unfortunately I don't know much about hot water heating.. so you'll need to wait until one of the pros gets here.

You could try to move the manual lever open with a little more force.Sounds like it is stuck closed.Hope you get it to go.

Sounds like the valve is stuck close, you may try to push on it some more to get it to open up..
Like the other guy said, the gas company only service the gas part unless they have a service plan that they can service all major applinace.. other wise, call a plumber who deals with hot water heat.

I don't know how much you know about your system, but when it comes down to it, it could be a couple things.
But if the heat was working one day and the next day it doesn't. I'm kinda confussed what that shut-off value would have to do with it. I mean they don't close on there own. But who knows maybe you have a kid who was playing down there.
Anyhow when it comes down to it, that value should work open/and close. If it doesn't, you need to replace it.
Another thing you need to look for is a reset button on that box, it should be on the pump. Hit that and see what happens.
Then again you system may have a lot of air in it , which could screw it up, flush that zone. See if that works.
If that doesn't work, then the pump is beat.
Like I said I don't know how much you know about all this and if you'll even beable to repair it yourself. Hopefully you will fix the problem, do you have service insurance on your heater, if so this repair could be covered.
Good luck
