Hi, I am planning on buying a small compressor to do hardwood floors. I been renting now I want to buy, but I dont need the size that they usually rent. I am looking at the Sear 1.5 horsepower, 2 gallon capacity model it has 125 PSI.

Is this a big enough unit to operate an air stapler for hardwood. the ones that I rented in the past has been 5 horse models and I do not need anything that big around the house.

Thanks in advance--I am not looking for top of the line features, just something to get me through a room or 2. Hence that is why I am looking at that unit.

thanks

it is ample enough to use with most nail guns. HP has more to do with the amount of pressure an engine can cram into a can and how fast. The size of the can matters none expect how often the engine will cycle on and off to refill the can.

If you do not need commercial strength or if this will be used infrequently i might suggest looking for a harbor frieght tool supplier in your phone book.

Good Luck
