I have a Janitrol gas furnace. The furnace will not start-up until I switch off the power switch on the furnace, then turn it back on. It will run for a while, then do the same thing again. I'll have to turn the switch off, then back on, and the furnace will fire up. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Sounds like it's going into a safety lock out.
Are there any led flashing on the circuit board or gas valve?

How old of a system is it? LP gas or Nat gas?
If LP, make sure you have gas in the tank, if the gas pressure drops, it will lock out on you.
What type of igniton you have? HSI, Spark, or Standing Pilot?

How's the filter? When was the last time the furnace has been cleaned?

It is a natural gas system. The pilot automatically lights when needed. We change the filter every year.

I changed the filter, no help, still having the same problem. I also sanded the tip of the flame sensor, and still no hope. Any other suggestions?

Check all supply and return ducts to be sure they are not blocked or closed. If you haven't changed the filter in a year whens the last time you had the furnace cleaned and serviced. The heat exchanger needs to be cleaned out and the flu needs checked for proper draft. If this hasn't been done in over a year I would highly reccomend it for you and your families safety.
