I have a question concerning ceiling preperation for paneling or tounge and groove.
I have been told two diffrent things about placing toung and groove on my ceiling.
One person says that i can just insulate and place it accordingly...the other said that regardless of what is being put up there, I need to apply drywall over the whole thing to SEAL the room off properly.
If I do need to use the drywall, would it be cost effective in the long run?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
My recommendation would be to put the drywall up, main reason is for fire stop.

It's a pain, but you will have less noise and, as Awesome mentioned, fire protection, which may be required by your local code anyway.
