OK- Tried my first window- Replacing old double hung wood ones.
Getting the old one out was pretty easy....
A few questions....
I removed the parting stops that keep the window in- once the window was out - I noticed a small piece of trim on the top of the old frame which prevents me from using the "head expander" on the new windows- Instead I just mountede the new one and put some insulation in the top gap- Will that suffice?
Also- I notice a gap between the new window and the outside frame which I filled with caulk- Will the water eventually work it's way in??? Not sure if I want to continue with the replacements or start thinking about replacing the whole entire window.
