several questions -
Are Snow Chief snowblowers still being manufactured?
Are manuals available for old machines?
My machine is shifting hard. Is there an easy fix?
Can I adjust the 2nd stage v-belt easily or do I have to drop the auger assembly?
The machine is an 8 hp Tec. X 25" about 10 yrs. old with very few hours on it. It is a manual start and starts easily.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Pete

Well. I answered a couple of my own questions. To make it shift easier, I removed the lower skid plate, cleaned and lubed the shaft that the driver slides on and it works like new.

There is no adjustment for the drive belt for the 2nd stage. It rides against a spring loaded boagy wheel to keep the proper tension. It looks like I will be replacing the belts this summer though which will require removing the auger assembly.
