Hi-
I'm finishing my basement and about ready to start thinking about putting in a suspended ceiling. I went to the local Home Depot, and all they really had on display were the regular boring rectangular tiles that you put in a grid. I don't mind the grid/suspended ceiling, but I don't want plain old 2' x 4' tiles that look boring.
1) I found Armstrong's web site and took a look at their tiles. Are there other companies that make suspended ceilings, and if there are, could you please post their web sites so that I can see what they have to offer?
2) Is there anyone who's familiar with the Northwest Chicago suburbs that knows of a good place one can go to in order to view different manufacturers' tiles first hand instead of through a catalog or the internet?
3) Does anyone have a "favorite" suspended ceiling that looks more like a ceiling and less like a giant grid? If you have a link to a picture, that would be great.
Thanks,
Steve

try a search for ceilume. They make vinyl tiles for those grids in 2X4 and 2X2. They are really nice looking and paintable. I was going to order those for a besement ceiling but am taking back all of the suspension grid to the store as it would be a huge headache to install in the room i was going to do it in.
