Hopefully someone can help me here, its a fairly easy question for you guys. I have a 22'x22' garage I need an alarm for. It has 1 window (slider) 4 foot across, a service door, and an overhead door. What would be my best bet for a security system that will do the trick for something that simple? Wired or wireless makes no difference, walls arent finished? But really easy to program? Thanks again for all your replies to my previous posts, Chuck

Is this garage near the house you were wanting to install an alarm in? If so, using wireless sensors, you could protect the garage using the same system - the sensors will work good up to about 300 ft. from the system - after that, they can become unreliable.
If it's not near the house, you could get a very simple system - like the DSC PC550 - it has 4 zones and runs about $100 for a complete kit. It will not support DSC's wireless receiver though. That doesn't necessarily mean you can't add wireless to it - just not the DSC wireless receiver - you would have to use something like the ITI Quik Bridge receiver, or Linear's Receiver, or a receiver with relay outputs on it. But, seeing as how the walls are open, you shouldn't need any wireless anyway.
Why not take a look on Ebay to see if you can find a good basic security system for cheap - I wouldn't spend more than $100 on one. Make sure you ask questions of the seller and be sure you get a new system that is not locked-out or branded (like ADT's SafeWatch Pro systems or Brinks systems.)

Im thinking about the ITI Concord Express for the house, can I expand it to the garage? Its a detached garage about 75' away from the house. Or should I stick with an alarm strictly for the garage?
