im constructing a partition wall between 2 ceiling joists. the wall is about 13' ft long, and its gonna be a bit of trouble to have the top plate be one solid piece.

would it be ok to have splices in the top plate of a wall that falls between 2 joists and is secured via blocking on 16" centers?
