I am in the process of finishing my upstairs. I am laying the subfloor using tongue and groove. I am having problems with several of the pieces. Everytime I get it to lock to the piece on it's side it creates a gap of about .8" of an inch between it and the piece it buts up against above it. I am sure it has something to do with my cutting. It is a bad thing to to have a .8" gap?

Please forgive me for the lack of better terminology.

Thanks,
mt
