I have a concrete patio out back that is all sorts of crazy. There are depressions in front of the bilco doors that hold water(which in turn, goes down to the basement) and there are depressions that water will pool in, in front of the garage. Is there a procedure for fixing or patching this that does not involve ripping up the pad? The idea I have is to try and divert the water away from the house and garage. Thanks for your help in advance.

You're right....you DO wanna divert the water away.....that's about 90% of keeping a dry basement.

IF your concrete has settled causing the entire slab to tilt toward the house or garage, there are companines out there ( see your yellow pages) that do "concrete leveling" by drilling holes in the lower side and pumping a grout mix in, hydraulically lifting the slab.....the grout dries holding it in place.

BUT if you just have a bad pour job and the "dips" are because of that, plan on busting it up and replacing IF you don't have clearance to pour another 4" or so on top + the slope you need.
