I am finishing a basement which is on grade and has a walk out level with the back yard. I plan on installing some 1/4" parquet that I got from Lowes (Heritage) that says it can be glued directly on concrete, and the adhesive I bought also can be used on concrete. I did a pH test and a moisture test for 72 hours (actually a bit longer), and it's pretty dry.
Should I apply some kind of sealer or something before I glue down the floor? The lady I talked to a few days ago said there is a liquid vapor barrier that can be painted on to the concrete, but the guy today said he knew of no such thing. Also, if I need to fill in any cracks or gouges in the floor, do I apply the sealant before or after this?
Thanks very much for any guidance. I'm glad I found this site!
