I've always used a sanding sponge for drywall and this is my first time using a sanding pad and pole. I have put 3M 220 mesh on it and it is creating some fine lines. Am I using too course a pad? I don't remember seeing anything finer. Am I sanding too hard? Should I just use this to remove the high spots and expect to go over it with a sponge in the end anyway?
Thanks

I hardly ever use a pole sander. Sometimes I'll sand between the second and third coats with the pole. As you have learned, if you want a really good finish you will have to sand with a sponge sander.

I was afraid my hopes for a magical answer would be dashed against the rocks. Any hints for ceilings? I thought about attaching the sponge to the sander pad, but it seems like more work and too hard to rinse.
