I'm sidenailing 3/4" Bolivian Rosewood, and having cracks in about 50% of all the tongues. I know this is real HARD wood, but what can prevent the cracks, how to repair them as I go along?

about the only way your going to prevent splitting if the wood is that hard is to predrill the holes! the wood might be very dry which is another cause of splitting. anybody else?
