View Full Version : insufficient cool air

I have insufficient cool air in some rooms of my house. I have a forced air gas furnace that, along with the outside condenser, is serviced regularly. HVAC service guy says to live with it or install additional ducts off the existing duct work in the warm rooms. I have seen ads for fans that go inside the ductwork to supposedly better circulate the air. Does anyone recommend these? Any other ideas? Thanks for any help.

Greetings!,
Let me start by saying NO to duct fans.
As I HVAC designer I can attest to the fact that your tossing your money away.
Now as far as resolving your issue. In the rooms that are not cooling properly allow me to ask this 1) Is the exiting air-flow from the registers adequate? 2) Whereis the return(s) located? 3) In proximity to the return, wher is the thermostat.
Provide these answers and let me see what I can do.
