I plan on putting a knock-down texture on my walls after I finish floating and bedding it, could you pleae tell me the name of the tool that one uses after "sputtering" texture on and then you drag the tool (edge) from the ceiling down for the knock-down effect? Thanks!

Use a regular 12" taping knife.

I use a 36" fiberglass paint screen for the large open areas, and the wide knife for tight areas.
