How easy/difficult is it to cut carpet in order to take it up? Unfortunately, I can't just roll it in one piece as furniture is sitting on it so I have to cut around it (can't lift the furniture).

a sharp utility knife will make short work of the take up.

Do you cut it while it is laying flat on the floor and from the top side?
