I have an older garage door that has key/lock to open the overhead door. Is it possible to change that lock? I know there will be some wiring involved - which I'm ok with.

Usually these use some type of keyed switch which can be replaced. A lockshop or security company should be able to order these if you cannot find them in stock but it does depend on the original lock and installation-hopefully yours is common.

If it is a momentary switch type control, you could replace it with a wireless relay - like the ITI Quik Bridge Receiver. This type of system would allow you to use the ITI keychain remotes to open/close your garage doors.

If the system is a lock/unlock (or sustained) switch, you could actually use the same system - you would just have to use a different setup to make it work right.

You may not even need to replace the locks.

Good luck!
