OK, there has got to be some tricks to cutting out outlet box and light can cutouts with a Rotozip. I just got this thing and some guidepoint bits and test ran it on some drywall scraps. Maybe I'm trying to go too fast or I don't have the bit depth set right but it wants to wander off and I have yet to make a nice clean cutout. Please don't tell me I need to practice everyday for the next 5 years to get it right!!

Only took me about 6 months.(lol) You have to keep pressure against the thing you are cutting out. Giude points are made to go one way and wont cut through a plastic box. So press pretty hard and keep practicing.

When cutting outlets or can lights I plunge into the center of the desired opening, run it over the edge, then pull the tool out & go back into the board just at the outside of the box, then run the rotozip counter-clockwise around the outside of the box.

Window & door cutouts are just opposite, you want to run the rotozip clockwise inside the opening.

But it does take a bit of practice to get good at it.

OK, I see where I was goofing up---- I was trying to go clockwise around the box. I was working against the machine.

Thanks for your help guys!
