I'm looking to get a bathroom mirror 45x50 inch. I read that other post and when I call these mirror places, I ask them about the different grades of mirrors and ever place I called told me the same thing, They all sell the best of the line mirror , they also they will last a life time.
Thats all fine but the prices I'm getting are everything from $150 to as high as $260. They all say the have 1/4 glass but what else should I look for, or ask them on the phone. When I talk to them I want to sound like I know what I'm talking about, I want to know what to ask them to really know if they are selling me a good mirror.
Or am I making a big deal over nothing, are they all the same.
Bye the way those prices are for install and with a polished edge.

All the mirror that I use is the same and it will probably last your lifetime. For that size, with polished edges and installed, $150.00 is the right price. It should not be more than $175.00. Just ask them to seal the edges to prevent "black edge" which is common in damp climates and can happen in bathroom.

more than likely, most of the glass shops you called purchase their glass from the same supplier...
the difference of price usually is determined by the quality of the edge work.......Some companies use belt sanders to polish edges,(least expensive) others use a polishing machine which provides best edging (moderate) and others use a local fabricator to cut and polish......(same mirror, most expensive)....
Questions to ask.......
Is the edge polished by belt sand or polishing machine.......

Although a belt sanded edge is sometimes fine for use,,,,,,,,a machine polished edge looks best......

other factors of price difference are over head costs and service value.......

:o First of all that's way to much for a mirror. I custom design mirrors and have delt with mirrors for a long time. If you are framing the mirror how the edge is sealed will not matter, because if it does start to blacken or chip it will only blacken on the edges and you will never know due to it being framed.

I purchased mirrors anywhere from $10.00 to $70.00 and turn it into a work of art selling anywhere from $500.00 to $5000.00 or more. Again you should not being paying over $90.00 dollars for a mirror. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz@hotmail.com

Good luck!

Karen, I don't know where you live, but here on the East coast that's the going price. Remember it's with polished edges & installed on the job site.
