I have installed an Ademco Vista 20P paired with a 6150 keypad. I am fairly confident with the wiring, especially since I just have one motion and two smokes, but for some reason the LCD does not light up or display any information. All of the keys light and beep, and all other components appear normal. I have tried pressing * and # within 50 seconds of power-up per the instructions, and I have tried keying in 4-1-1-2, 800, but no cigar. Probably something simple, but I'm stumped. Thanks in advace for any help.

It sounds like it's not getting power - have you double-checked the wiring? Make sure you have the keypad + wired to the AUX+ on the panel and - to AUX- on the panel. If you have just that much, you should at least get lights (and a databus error message.) Are your other powered devices working? Have you metered the panel to make sure the AUX terminals are working and getting ~12VDC? Have you tested the wiring? The transformer? Metered the AC terminals?
Good luck!

I believe the keypad is getting power because all the buttons are lit and they beep when pressed. I metered the terminals at the keypad and it is getting 12 volts. On the keypad, the red wire goes to + and the black wire goes to -. The green wire goes to the terminal marked 'G' and the yellow wire goes to the terminal marked 'Y'. The same wires connect to the panel per the manual. All other devices in the alarm system are getting power. The smoke detector green light is blinking 'ready'. The motion detector is lit. I metered the panel and it looks like the transformer is providing the proper voltage to the panel. Everything looks what I would consider 'normal' except the LCD is dead. I guess if anybody wants to break into my house, tonight's the night, eh LOL?

Ok, so the keypad is powered-up - it sounds like you just need to address it now.
Press 1 & 3 and hold for about 2 seconds.
You should see 31 come up.
Enter 16 and press * (maybe # - I forget, should be in the manual.)
This will address the keypad to the 16 address (main keypad.)
That should take care of it.
Good luck!

SafeWatch, you're a genius. The addressing process worked. I knew it was something extremely basic and although I've done a little bit of everything else, this is my first alarm install. Thanks
