Hello...
I have a Custom Aire #cf-105 central gas heater. The pilot light is out and I can not relight it after following instructions on heater. There is power to the heater. There are several "units"? attached to the exposed section of heater after I took cover off. One of them seems to be buzzing a little and the buzz is affected by movement of the wires attched to them, that is, when I move the wires a little. The "unit" in question is screwed in with a metal plate that is stamped "general controls" and also "line 115v 50 60 cy". One wire from that unit goes to the part that houses the pilot. Can the failure of such a unit cause the pilot light not to work? I'm hoping there's an easy solution to this but I suppose I may have to call a professional to help me on this one. If you don't see a solution to my problem would you advise me on how I can find the best person for the job? Phone book I suppose?
Anyway,thanks for any reply...................Greg

What kind of pilot do you have?

Standing "always lit",

Hot surface ignition "A black carbon looking object that glows red and lights the pilot"

Direct spark "Has like a spark plug wire running to the pilot and on a call for heat it sparks to light the pilot"

Have you checked to assure the gas is on?
