I have a Bryant Gas-fired Induced Combustion Horizontal furnace Model# 373LAV024070 roughly 7 years old. I have never had any trouble with this system until now. The furnace does not come on when there is a call for heat. The A/C system controlled by the same thermostat operates normally. The furnace LED status code is 31. I performed the "Component Test". After the LED flashes the status code the inducer motor does not come on at all as it is supposed to. The test sequence does continue, however, with the other components, the hot surface igniter and the blower motor (heat speed then cool speed), coming on.
Do these symtoms point solely to the inducer motor? Is there a way to test the operation of the pressure and draft safeguard switches? If I take a resistance reading across the switch terminals should I see an open or a short?

inducer motor or circuit problem here. the test sequence over rides the psi switch

If you have a multi-meter check for voltage at the inducer motor on a call for heat. That's the 1st thing that should come on. if you have none like hvac4 says check the circuit board. See if you've got voltage to it.

Thanks for your responses. Based on what you both said my logic path is this:
1) check for loose connections
2) initiate a call for heat
3) if I measure voltage at the inducer motor then the inducer motor is bad and I need to replace it else
4) if I don't measure voltage at the inducer motor then the furnace control circuit board is bad and I need to replace it?

yes. with call for heat the board sends power to the inducer motor, the relay on the oard could be dropping out, or possible bad inducer. check for voltage, this will tell

Just wanted to say thanks again. It turned out to be the furnace control circuit board. I found a replacement board online at callallied.com for $175 plus shipping. I ordered the part late on 11/28 and it was delivered 12/3. I installed it and everything works great.
