Pilot light not lighting for gas furnace. It is the combination of a central cooling system unit in one. It does not make sense that the heater runs under gas but it does. A/C runs electrical. This is the most information I can give. I hope you can help me out. It gets really cold in here. Thank you for your time in this matter. Promply I hope.

a gas package unit, not unusual, sounds like ignition problem, what happens with a call for heat....anything?

The ignitor works. But there is no gas passing through. The A/C works fine as well. But there is no heater. I would like to know how to get in there so that I may clean either the valve or whatever needs to be cleaned.

Thank you,
BHammond

if voltage is reaching the valve, it should open, if it is not it {the valve} could well be bad. look for 24 volts from MV to MVPV

This is a little confusing. Where can I locate this voltage and how can I get to it. And if it has gone bad, how would I know without having to do anything major on this furnace. Obviously I am not an expert at this sort of thing. I do not have the funds at this time to have an expert come over and do anything to it, So a little help for myself and this so called furnace would be very much appreciated. There is a little spark coming out from somewhere I do not know what it is even called lol. I laugh because I seem to want to be Mrs.Fix it. But sometimes we have to do what we have to do. To get things done and fixed. Even if it means getting advice from afar.

Thanks

Check the gas supply is on. Then check first CAREFULLY wit a multimeter set on line voltage and then down to a lower voltage 24 volts.
that there is power to the gas valve.
The fact you have spark would indicate that the system has proved iyself up to that point ie flue fan etc is ok.
What brand & model of furnace do you have. Does it have any analyser lights on the control board?

I am for DIY, but I hate to say this.

Please call a service tech! If you can't understand and find what's wrong with the unit you are RISKING your own life.

It does not make sense that the heater runs under gas

When I saw this, I think "Umm.. you really need to get someone in to show your system.

I understand if the funds are not there.. When you call a dealer tell them your problem with funds, and they maybe be able to work a payment plan with you..

A small payment monthly is lot cheaper than your life and family in the house hold.
