I just had my foundation finished and stripped of the forms.
I had the surveyors come back to do a top of foundation survey.
Well I found out that the foundation is 4.5 inches higher than what it is supposed to be. The building Dept will let me know what the outcome is on Mon, it might be within the limits.
Question, If it is not with in limits, what are the options to fix this?

Thanks

wow...first off, my sympathy on living somewhere that you would even HAVE to worry about what a bunch of bureacrats would say about 4.5" of height on a foundation.....personally, I sell the thing as soon as it was done and light out for parts of the country with a bit more personal freedom :)

But as to WHAT to do, I guess one would get out the concrete saw and start hacking.

there are restrictions on elevations everywhere. they can always be changed if you have good reason, and you dont cause problems for your neighbours.

Uh, no Millertime, there are NOT restrictions on elevations everywhere......only in places that have too many weenie government workers without real jobs to do.

I've built here in east Tennessee for 30 years and I assure you NO ONE has ever checked the first foundation I've ever built.....or cared.

interesting. But I would like to add, its not that big of a deal, as you can get them changed.
