Does anyone know of a site that can give you the basics of building a tambour door? I want to make a roll top deck but I figure I'll practice on a bread box first to get the hang of it.:D

Don't know of a web site but I have books that cover that subject when building a roll top desk. You could get plans for the desk and it should cover that subject..

Have you tried a search on the subject?

Rockler has both tambour material and router bits to make your own if you're really adventurous. The tambour material can be found in two different locations, kitchen stuff and hardware.

Just did my first roll-top project using Rockler's "cable tambour": Roll-top computer desk. Had to draw my own plans as I was unable to find anything to my liking. Came out very nice.
