Walls and Ceilings - question about gameroom walls.....

In my basement i am building a gameroom. I have 2 'games' that are giving me trouble. I have a hanging electronic dartboard and a arcade style electric basketball toss game. The plastic darts Im sure will go thru drywall easy and the basketballs will hit the ceiling occasionally(the game is 7 foot tall)

I'm sheetrocking and texturing the whole room. What do i put behind the dartboard and above the hoops game? i was thinking of half inch plywood behind the dartboard and texturing it but im not sure about the ceiling..

I'm with you on the plywood to protect the sheetrock. Good idea.

im thinking more of plywood instead of the drywall in that area....if i finish the walls, will the texture on the drywall match the work i do on the plywood?:confused:

play some bar darts myself on occasion. every time a dart misses the board the plastic tips break. how about gluing some cork on 4'x4' hunk of plywood or masonite and just hanging that behind the dart board. should give enough protection to your wall for blood alchohol levels up to .15 and save you a lot of dart tips.
