Good morning all,

I want to attach a 2 ft by 4 ft piece of plywood to the concrete block next to my electrical circuit box in my basement.

Once that is done, I want to mount my telephone and cable connections on it.

How would I go about attaching the plywood to the concrete blocks ?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You could use screws and anchors, tapcons, construction adhesive. My choice would be some #8 screws 2" with plastic anchors.

Hope this helps.

Hilti gun. No spotting holes. Tapcon screws otherwise, same reason, no spotting holes.

If it is your main breaker panel don't put the wood too close. There breaker panel has a code requirement on distance from flammable (like wood) material.

I think it is something like 1 or 2 inches, but can't remember exactly. I would check in the Electrical forum to be sure. Just a thought.

No clearance is required under the NEC for a breaker panel to flammable material behind or beside the panel. The area in front must be clear of all material for 36 inches, and nothing is allowed past the face of the panel in an area 30 inches wide.
Panels are routinely mounted between studs or on treated wood secured to masonry. You are required to fasten cables within 12 inches of exiting the box, and mounting the panel on 2x lumber that sticks out on all four sides provides an easy place to fasten them.
