I searched Lowes and Sears but could not find the router to cut the design I have in mind. Is there a web site that sells router bits and illustrates the design for each bit?

Jim,
Lee Valley (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.asp?page=46168&category=1&SID=&ccurrency=1) shows the profile of their bits.

Any of your local woodworking stores will have bits. You can also go to www.rockler.com I highly recommend Amana Bits. We use them in the professional end and they work great. Stay away from Viper bits "Home Depot Item"

Go to www.mlcs.com. It's like a candy store for woodworkers.
