I have a fireplace that was built with cement block only and no firebrick. The cement block wall behind the fire place gets very hot. I want to install fire brick, but never have laid brick before.
Any help on how to do this.

Fire brick uses a fire proof mortar for installation. Changing the dimensions of a fireplace may change the characteristics of its working.
