Good Evening,
Help! I am in the middle of spackling and have used the paper tape. Although it looked great as I put the first coat on, when I went to apply the second coat there are air bubbles in the tape.
I tried to slice them with the utility knife, but cannot seem to get them out. I did complete the second coat but do not want to put the third coat on until the bubbles are gone.
Also, in the interactive tutorial, it appears as if the first coat is applied, then the second coat is applied to the left and to the right of the intial coat, just overlapping slightly instead of completely. I have been covering the first coat completely. Is this correct?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I would like to finish this tomorrow!

Bubbles under the tape are from the tape not bedding completely. They won't go away. You will have to cut that part out and replace it.
You go over the first coat and spread out to the sides. You were doing it right, even if the tutorial was not clear.
Hope this helps.

yes could be that not enough mud behind tape but could also be that there's a large gap in the joint if thats the case fill the gap with mud and allow to dry, replace tape.

MFagundo,
Hello & welcome to the forums. Chris is right , your bubbled tape has to go, really should have been completely resolved prior to the second coat.
The fix is to use your utility knife to carefully cut around the bubble & then remove it, when you do you'll find that there is no mud on the bottom side of the affected area of tape. Once it's removed you can use mud to fill in the void & smooth it out before proceeding on with another coat. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your suggestions, it really clarified it for me! For whatever the reason, I thought you were just supposed to score it across the bubble, and that's what I was trying to do! This makes much more sense.
Thanks for your help!
