I have a Hitachi DV-PF2U DVD/VHS player. On some commerical (even brand new DVD movies), the voices are not synchronized with the picture. Is there any way for a consumer to adjust the player to correct this problem? I have returned and received replacement DVDs for several movies, but the problem was not the DVD. With The Two Towers, the voice/picture problem didn't occur until about 45 minutes into the movie. But the movie we watched last night had this problem within the first 10 minutes. Once the problem occurs, it continues for the whole movie.

I called the Hitachi service line but they had no suggestions, wanting me to take it in for service. Since it is no longer under warranty, I am trying to find out if there is something I can do first. Many thanks for any suggestions.

do you have your dvd player outputs going into a vcr then out of the vcr to the tv?

if so this is your problem. the vcr electronics cannot process dvd information. sometimes the video may even become dark at times.

hope this helps

I know on some brands of dvd players there is an EEPROM upgrade (reprogrammng an IC) that needs to be done to correct this problem. The only way to know if this unit needs it is to contact a authorized Hitachi service center and ask them if there is a service bulletin on this model for this problem.
