Well I hope it wasn't a mistake but I purchased a Simon 3 (v3.2) on eBay. It was pretty bare bones which is OK. I want to install the sensors that recess into the doors (Part no. 60-741-95 ) vs the HUGE sensors that usually come in the kits.

Anyway, this purchase included the panel, 4-button Key Fob, two 60-362-10-319.6 door/window sensors, one 60-675-95R door sensor, battery, telco cable, installation manual and user manual.

What it did not include (and I apparently overlooked in the listing) was a transformer to power the system. I want to use the X-10 capabilities, so I need the transformer that will allow these signal to be passed.

Does anyone know a source for this transformer. I have not had success locating one online. According to the installation manual, the part number is 22-TBD-ITI.

Also I read another post on here Re: a preprogrammed Monitronics panel. I hope that is not an issue with me, but is there an eas way to tell?

Thanks.

I have a different number than what you have for the part, but the item I have is the Simon 3 Line Carrier (X-10) transfomer - 60-913. It's about $20, plus shipping.

Now, here's the thing - not only do you need to find out if your panel is a Moni panel, but you also need to make sure it's an X-10 panel. Starting with the Simon 3, ITI has 2 versions of it (4 if you include the 2-way) - one with X-10 and one without X-10. Just adding an X-10 transformer to a non-X10 panel will not work.

That being said, I'm not sure exactly where you would look to check if it is an X-10 capable or not.

Here is the way ITI lists them in the manual ("transmitter" means X-10 transmitter):
Control Panel:
60-875-95R (basic panel)
60-875-01-95R (with 2-way voice)
60-875-10-3 (with transmitter)
60-875-11-3 (with 2-way voice and transmitter)

So, maybe you can check the inside cover or back of the panel to see which version you have. If you have 10-3 or 11-3, then you could use the X-10 transformer with your panel. If not, you're out of luck - sorry.

Good luck - and let me know if you need any further help.

BTW, if it's a Moni panel - you will know it - it will say it clearly on the front. If it does not have a Monitronics or ADT label on the front and just says "Simon", then you're ok.

Well looks like I have the 2-way without X10. Since I have a lot of X10 in my home, I wanted to take advantage of that feature on the Simon 3. Guess I screwed up.

I'll probably relist it on eBay for what I paid for it and shop for the correct one.

Thanks Brandon.

Out of curiosity, what did you pay for it? For just the panel, you should get up to about $100. For the whole kit, you should do much better.

Good luck!

Well, in hindsight, not sure how I did. The kit contains the Simon 3 Panel, one 60-670-95R sensor, two 60-362-10-319.5 sensors, one 60-659-95R 4-button Key Fob, battery, telco cord, install manual, and user manual.

No motion detector. No Transformer. I paid $170 and will try to sell for the same and eat the Shipping and Handling. I usually do my homework better than this.

That's not too bad - that kit retails for around $400-500 (depending on where you buy) and about the cheapest you can get it is $350 (not including Ebay.) Like I say, panel only, about $100 is good - add the extras, you didn't do too bad (minus the transformer.)
