I have Dish Network satellite tv installed currently to our family room and bedroom. I am finishing our basement and I'd like to add a satellite outlet for a home theatre. There are 2 cables that come in from the satelite dish currently. Both run to the basement to a wiring block and then are coupled to cables that continue upstairs to the tvs. I was told by the guy at our local "Cheeseball" satelite company that a tech would have to install another dish, plus the cost to wire cable. I think this sounds like bull.

Can't we just "T" off at the existing junction and run a new cable and get an additional satelite reciever box?

you can't just buy a normal cable splitter. But there are converters you can buy for this sort of project, if you have the right Dish. I think you could call any satellite dealer and ask them this sort of question.

Your wiring 'block' is simply barreled to the two in-coming dish coaxs from the dish to your current 2 receivers.
As mentioned, you cannot 'T' a satellite line.
But you can buy a Quad Lnbf (about 100 bucks) and add line 3 or even line 4 direct to recvr3 and a rcvr 4 if desired.
Of course, a new receiver 3 is also gonna cost about $109.95
If you can reach the dish safely, you can DIY.
If you DIY, you need to setup the new quad with your remote, and call Dishnet to activate rcvr3.

PS: a new dish may be needed unless you already have a Dish 500 (new dish500 less than 50.00)
