I've got a question about finishing up my system. Here is some background info on it.

(1) PC1555 classic control panel
(2) PC5508Z LCD keypads
(1) AC-100 glass breakage detector
(3) Bravo 2 PIR motion sensors
(3) magnetic door detectors

I have wired everything to the panel and now in reading some of the posts on this board I realize that I have to put in the EOL resistors.

Could this be causing the problem that the panel shows zone three as red and that I can't arm the system? Also I can't get the door to chime. I have no trouble lights either.

How do you install the resistors in series versus parallel?

It sounds like it is better to install the resistor at the device versus at the control panel, is that correct?

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like that might be your problem - but that really depends on what you have connected to zone 3. Also, if you have not installed EOL resistors, and you have not reprogrammed 013 - option 1 as on, then all of your zones should be showing open.

Tell us what zone 3 is and what option 1 in 013 is set for and we'll go from there.

Yes, EOL's are installed in series on Normally Closed loops and in parallel on Normally Open loops. The difference depends on what device you have installed.

Yes, it is better to install the EOL at the actual End-Of-Line (hence the name) rather than in the panel - but not necessary. However, if you're not going to install them at the EOL, it's easier to just turn off EOL's in 013/option 1.

Good luck!
