I bought the Home depot tiling 1-2-3 book and in the section where it is talking about Isolating cracks it says Roofing Felt (tar paper) can be used to isolate tile from active cracks in a concrete slab.

This is what it says:

Cut the strips of felt about the same width as the tile, and center the strips over the crack. Use as many strips as necessary to follow the course of the crack. Then tile over the slab and felt strips. SPREAD AND COMB THIN-SET OVER BUT NOT UNDER THE FELT. Set the tile as usual. When you grout the tile joints, however, fill the joints on both sides of the crack with silicone caulk. This way the tile over the crack is free to float, attached elastically to the tiles on both sides, but not to the slab beneath.

Okay, so here is my question. It all makes sense to me until you get to the "fill the joints on both sides of the crack with silicone caulk." How do you match silicone caulk color to your grout color?
I know there are different color caulk??? heard but never seen anyway. Also, the texture and the color would be way off making the floor look strange, IMO. Maybe I am not understanding?? I hope someone knows what to do here. This sounds so simple and I HAVE all the stuff to do it with so I wouldn't have to buy anything:)

could it mean maybe, to fill the tile joints halfway with the caulk, then cover the caulk with the grout you are using on the rest of the floor?

I don't know???

thank you

Tar paper is not recommended by the Tile Council of America(TCA) ,The National Tile Contractors Assoc.(NTCA).,Tile Contractors Assoc. of America (TCAA),Marble Institute of America(MIA)Terrazzo,Tile and Marble Assoc. of Canada(TTMAC)
Will not meet the proposed ANSI standard for Crack Isolation membranes. Is not warrented by anyone... AND SHOULD NOT BE USED! ..

As indicated, "Never!" Use a recommended isolation membrane and follow the Tile Institute's recommendations for dealing with expansion joints and cracks in concrete before installing tile. Consider the sources of your information.
