On my roll of wallpaper, the lable reads "when hanging textured wallpaper, alternate lengths must be reversed" Does anyone know what they mean by this???

Decide which way is 'up' on the pattern. Then cut three strips to hang. Hang the 1st strip 'up'. Then hang the second strip 'upside down'. Then hang the 3rd strip 'up', just like the first. Every other strip, you reverse the pattern, or hang every other piece upside down.
Does that make sense?

It does make sense, but then the seashells will be upsidedown on ever other sheet of paper, I don't think that would look too good.

Sounds like you got the infamous generic wallcovering instructions. Hang it so it looks good.

The instructions you have are only applicable to a plain non patterened paper. If your paper has a definate match then of course it would look daft to reverse hang..
Some papers need to be reversed to avoid shading..However..Sometimes the shade differs more when following instructions..Its crazy!!
