Hey again.....

Power 832 8 zone 5015

OK here it is,

In Canada we only use 2 wires for the house phones unless you have a second line, which in my case I don't. I use in the house red and green. Which connection should I put the wires into, ring / tip / r-1 / t-1

I have 2 pagers that I need to receive information on alarm status, armed, disarmed tripped............

I know so far I have to go into *8 (code) then I am lost:confused:

this is an example of what I need to dial for my pagers

944-8021ppp4321

please help me as I am lost again !!! thanks all

Take a look at http://www.doityourself.com/to/safewatch.htm - you'll see a link to "Phone Wiring" in the left-hand "Information" column - that will show you how to wire up the phones properly.

As for the programming - you should have some programming sheets that explain all of that. The phone numbers start in field 301 and then you'll have to setup the report format (360) and the report codes, etc. (several different fields.)

Good luck!

OK I am getting a little better at this... I just want to make sure I have all the correct items installed. I want to be paged for the arming, disarming, and break-ins on the house so this is what I have.....

Programming Worksheet Book
Communications Programming Pg. #13

301: 9448021PP@@@@F
302: 9448021PP@@@@F
320: 05 inputted for zone 1 to 8
339: 05 inputted for zone 1 to 8
344: 05 inputted for zone 1 to 8
360: 05 1st phone - 05 2nd phone

This is what I have come up with, if you have any suggestions please reply :D

Thank-s all for reading

Sounds about right. I'm not an expert, per say, on DSC panels, and I've never programmed one for Paging - but it sounds like you have it right. Give it a try and see what happens - that's the best way to tell.

MrRon might know DSC's better - maybe he will have some suggestions.

Ok, you've got the basics down, but if you want to be able to differentiate between an alarm and an arm/disarm, you need to put different codes in for the various functions.

Programming Worksheet Book
Communications Programming Pg. #13

301: 9448021PP@@@@F
302: 9448021PP@@@@F
320: 05 inputted for zone 1 to 8

My standard is to put in 21-28 for the zone alarm codes, that way you know that theres an alarm on a given zone.
If all you want for the zones is to report an alarm, I'd just put a 99 in each of the alarm zone report slots.

339: 05 inputted for zone(arming code) 1 to 8
You only need a reporting code for each user code that you plan to use. For these I would use 71 - 78 for the code to be sent.

344: 05 inputted for zone(disaming) 1 to 8.
I would use 81 - 88. Again you only need a report code for user codes actually programmed into the system. It's just easier to set the first 8 so that you don't have to mess with it if you add more codes.

360: 05 1st phone - 05 2nd phone
_This_ is the block that has to have 05 in each position.

Also, make sure that you go to section 380 and turn off option 4, this keeps it from switching to pulse dial if it goes past 5 dialing attempts.

Be sure to turn on the second phone number in sections 361 and 365, they default to off.

I hope that this makes sense.

Mr. Ron

Hey thanks for the inf., as of now I have it somewhat working, but i have a question for ya....

I have my code and my girlfriend has a code as do my parents and her parents, is there something to setup to send pages for all the codes on the above that we have set up?

and second, how do I get it to page while using the hot keys, stay and away????

For seperate reports on users, you'll want to use the 339 and 344 report codes - each number (1-8) represents a different user.
If I'm not mistaken, Stay and Away report as Master - so you will have to put in a report code for 343, option 3 - Closing by Master.
If you're going to do that, might as well do a Opening by Master - 348, option 3.

Good luck!
